"Where can I hide" Inspired by Psalm 139 |
|
Since becoming a Believer, I have always been awe-struck by the thought that God, the King of the Universe would stoop down from Heaven to recognise a spec of dust such as myself upon this Earth. David in the Psalms speaks beautifully of this concept as he articulates his realisation of how the God of Eternity knew him from even before conception in his mother's womb. I had studied this Psalm and began to muse how it must have sounded to the audiences that must have listened to David's insight expressed in such a creative manner. David said effectively, "There is not a word upon my tongue You do not know," and whither it be praise, revelations or prophesies, this song is a song of David's heart overflowing, welling up with the realisation that "I am known of God and I cannot hide from Him". Compared to his forefather Adam, who wanted to hide; for David, being unable to hide was for him a great comfort knowing that he could never be lost. BL |
